Buma / Stemra has cranked the rate for podcasts. Cost of such hosting and internet broadcasting until recently off 240 euros a year, now required for each downloaded podcast paid a penny, with a minimum of 130 euros. That seems low, but for large radio stations, this means a significant drain on the wallet.

The new rate, which retroactively from January 2011 to be paid, for 538 reasons with immediate effect its Dance Department podcast ’538 ‘and’ Powermix “to withdraw all of its websites. The podcasts, which contain repetitions of the programs, says Radio 538, a free service product for listeners that the station said nothing to earn.

Rate 100x rollover
Although 538 did know that an increase in the rate was on to come, had not counted on this rate. The podcasts are very popular and the station is now nearly 100 times as much to pay. Hence, it immediately removes all podcasts from the site.
